The SSI (Scuba Schools International) Scuba Diver certification is a beginner-level diving certification that allows individuals to dive to a maximum depth of 40 feet (12 meters) with a professional dive guide. To earn the certification, individuals must complete a certain number of classroom and pool training sessions, as well as open water dives. The open water dives are typically conducted over the course of two days and include four training dives. To certify as a SSI Scuba Diver, candidates must be at least 10 years old and be able to swim 200 yards/meters and tread water for 10 minutes. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an SSI Scuba Diver certification card, which is recognized worldwide.
