Founded in 2004, the Anthia Diving Center is located in Sesimbra, a fishing village that has always provided a sociocultural richness closely linked to the sea.

Its proximity to the Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park, allows you to enjoy diving spots with very high biodiversity, knowing about 1350 species of marine fauna and flora. Their wealth has no equal at both national and European level. Located in the large metropolitan area of Lisbon, this area has very intense and varied requests. Recreational diving appears as the largest leisure activity, however Sesimbra is excellent for all sports connected to the Sea throughout the year.

Anthia Diving Center is a family environment company that values safety as a fundamental value above any other, implementing a policy of excellence and rigor with regard to the training and updating of our instructors, as well as with regard to equipment maintenance processes.

O centro está muito bem organizado, com bom material e uma equipa que sabe o que faz. O Jori foi sempre prestável, quer com o equipamento, quer a esclarecer dúvidas, e nunca houve nada que fosse um problema.

O Paulo é um espetáculo de instrutor. Brinca e tem sempre boa disposição, o que torna as aulas descontraídas, mas quando é preciso ser sério, é mesmo. A segurança esteve sempre em primeiro lugar, em todos os exercícios e em todos os mergulhos, e isso fez toda a diferença para me sentir confiante dentro de água. Explica tudo com clareza e paciência, e não se passa para o passo seguinte sem estar tudo bem percebido.

O batismo foi o que me convenceu a tirar a certificação, e não podia ter escolhido melhor sítio nem melhor instrutor para o fazer. Recomendo a quem quer experimentar o mergulho e a quem quer tirar o curso completo.

Correu tudo muito bem, desde o planeamento até à conclusão do curso. Tudo foi organizado de forma excelente, com explicações claras, acompanhamento constante e uma grande preocupação com a segurança em todas as etapas.

I really had a fantastic experience with Anthia Diving Center. I did my first ever Dive with them and completed my Open-Water-Diver Certification.
The organisation was fantastic; I was able to visit Sesimbra very spontaneously for a week. I messaged them on Wednesday and got a reply withing 2 hours that it would be possible to join a class on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Our instructor Paulo Santos really was the best Instructor I could have imagined. He speaks fluent English, French and of course Portuguese. He is extremely experienced and very fun to be around. He explained everything very calmly and gave us all the time we needed to understand everything properly. I felt 100% save at all times, even during “scary” tasks like the “losing your mask underwater” safety drill.
When I return next year to do my Advanced-Open-Water Diver I will 100% come back to Anthia Diving Center and Paulo.
